App peek not working for all apps
Kenneth Siewers Møller
App peek sometimes don’t work on some devices.
I’m using Dispatch on two devices, a Shield Pro and a Google Streamer.
It seems like the app peek is inconsistent and on one device I see e.g. Plex but on the other I don’t.
I can’t really tell what the differences are between the devices besides the inconsistent behavior.

This likely a bug / poor choice on the app's side rather than an issue with Dispatch.
App's on Android TV are themselves inconsistent about creating recommendations from one device to the next (which is what is used to show content on the home feed and app peek).
For example, the Netflix and GeForce Now apps create recommendations on my Shield, but they do not on my Chromecast and Bravia TV.
Crunchyroll creates recommendations on my Bravia TV, but not on any of my other devices.
If the app decides not to create any recommendations on a particular device, there's nothing that can be done on Dispatch's side.
For any app that is not consistently showing recommendations on your home feed or app peek, navigate to Settings -> General -> Home & Wallpaper -> Personalize Media Feed -> Find your app. If you do not see any entries under Recommendations from X app, then the app is unfortunately not generating any recommendations.

Paul Dhaliwal I see, that’s unfortunate.
Would it make sense to somehow display that in Dispatch?
I guess it would make life a lot easier if the launcher would show something like “No recommendations from this app at the moment. Please check back later.”

Kenneth Siewers Møller: That's a good idea, so I'll add it to the list of things to do. That being said, I imagine even if I had such a warning, many people's first instinct would still be to come ask why this is the case for one device vs another. So not totally sure how much it would cut down on the confusion.
